By bicycle from Amsterdam to Landsmeer

Hop on your bike in the heart of Amsterdam for this easy ride north to Landsmeer! This 17 km route takes you out of the city bustle and straight into the classic Dutch countryside, with 87% of the way on cycle paths. You’ll roll past canals, lush greenery, and maybe spot some friendly cows as you pedal over mostly smooth asphalt (good news for your wheels!).

Amsterdam is, of course, one of the world’s cycling capitals—so getting out of the city is a breeze, thanks to dedicated bike lanes. Once you reach Landsmeer, you’re at the edge of the scenic Twiske nature reserve, a local favorite for picnics and walks by the water. All in all, it’s a gentle ride—very little climbing—and the perfect excuse for a café stop at either end. Don’t forget your camera for those windmill and canal views on the way!
