Quick ride by bicycle from Groß-Enzersdorf to Schwechat

This scenic ride takes you from the town of Groß-Enzersdorf, just east of Vienna, all the way to Schwechat, home of Vienna International Airport. Starting in Groß-Enzersdorf, a historic spot once part of the Roman Empire’s border, you’ll cruise mostly along smooth paved cycleways (about 60% of the route), making for a chill ride with minimal traffic. The area is surrounded by fields and wetlands, especially as you roll past the Lobau, Vienna’s famous national park.

You'll cover just under 19 km, with a barely-noticeable climb of about 55 meters—so it’s easy on the legs. The route mainly uses asphalt, and most roads are quiet, which keeps things relaxed. The last few kilometers bring you into Schwechat, known for its brewery and, of course, the bustle of the airport.
