Quick ride by bicycle from Grödig to Salzburg

Roll out from Grödig at the foot of the Untersberg, where the Untersbergbahn cable car climbs into the Alps. Head north on quiet village roads and bike-friendly paths toward Schloss Hellbrunn—perfect for a quick detour to the famous trick fountains or the Salzburg Zoo.

From Hellbrunn, cruise the leafy Hellbrunner Allee straight into Salzburg’s Nonntal, one of the city’s classic, car-light cycling routes. The ride is about 10.4 km with an easy net downhill (more descent than ascent) and is mostly paved; expect the odd stretch of compact gravel or paving stones as you approach the center. You’ll cross only brief busier sections.
