Quick ride by bicycle from Gmunden to Ebensee

Roll out from lakeside Gmunden, with views of Seeschloss Ort and the towering Traunstein, and head south hugging the shores of Traunsee. It’s about 16.5 km with roughly 380 m of climbing—mostly gentle, with a few short, punchy ramps when the path ducks inland around rocky bays. Surfaces are largely paved/asphalt and much of the ride is on paths or quiet roads, so traffic stays low while the scenery stays high.

You’ll get constant lake panoramas, little coves, and boat piers; consider a quick pause on a promenade en route for coffee and a swim. Rolling into Ebensee at the lake’s southern end, you’re right by the base station of the Feuerkogel cable car if you fancy a sky-high detour.
