By bicycle from Bergheim to Salzburg

This is a lovely, easy ride from Bergheim to Salzburg, perfect for those who want a mix of quiet roads, dedicated cycleways, and a dash of local charm. You’ll start in Bergheim, a peaceful suburb known for its church and views of the Salzach river. From there, you’ll wind your way south towards Salzburg, enjoying mostly paved paths (with just a sprinkle of cobblestones and paving stones to keep things interesting).

The route is about 6.6 km—not too long, so it’s doable for a relaxed morning or afternoon outing. You’ll roll gently up and down, gaining and losing around 83 meters in elevation (nothing too steep!). Once you reach Salzburg, you’ll find yourself at the doorstep of a city bursting with music history (think Mozart!) and beautiful architecture.
