By bicycle from Wuppertal to Wuelfrath

This ride takes you from the vibrant city of Wuppertal to the charming town of Wülfrath—just over 16 km, but packed with scenic variety. Starting in Wuppertal, known for its famous suspended monorail (Schwebebahn) and hilly green valleys, you’ll head northwest into the gentle countryside of North Rhine-Westphalia.

Expect a bit of a workout: the route packs in around 275 meters of climbing, but much of it is on well-maintained bike paths and quiet roads (over 90% paved!), making for a smooth journey. You’ll breeze past leafy stretches, occasional small villages, and maybe even spot a few old railway lines—many of which have been turned into bike trails.
