Cycling day trip from Wernigerode to Braunlage

Get ready for a fantastic ride through the Harz mountains—this route takes you from the colorful, fairy-tale town of Wernigerode to the cozy resort town of Braunlage. From the picturesque half-timbered houses of Wernigerode (nicknamed “the bright city of the Harz”), you’ll wind south into the heart of Harz National Park. Expect a solid workout: there’s nearly 870 meters of climbing, but you’ll be rewarded with epic forest views, sparkling streams, and maybe even a glimpse of the Brocken peak on clear days.
