Quick ride by bicycle from Unterschleissheim to Oberschleißheim

A chilled spin from Unterschleißheim to Oberschleißheim, about 6.5 km and basically flat. Roll out from Unterschleißheim’s S‑Bahn area and follow the signed cycle paths south; most of the route is on quiet, car‑free paths with smooth asphalt (about 95% paved), so it’s great for families or an easy after‑work ride.

You’ll pass fields and green strips with the Alps sometimes peeking on clear days. Keep aiming for Schleißheim/Schloss—navigation is straightforward and traffic is light, with just brief stretches on access or quiet roads.

Finish in Oberschleißheim at the splendid Schleissheim Palace complex: baroque gardens, the Altes and Neues Schloss, and nearby Lustheim Palace. Just down the road is Flugwerft Schleißheim, the aviation branch of the Deutsches Museum—perfect for a post‑ride wander. The 1972 Olympic regatta course is also close if you want a longer spin.

Tips: bring a lock, grab a coffee or a Radler at the Schlosswirtschaft beer garden, and enjoy a loop around the palace park perimeter before heading back.
