Cycling day trip from Rheine to Lingen

This cycling route takes you from Rheine to Lingen, covering about 41 km through the beautiful countryside of northwest Germany. Starting in Rheine, a town on the Ems river with a lively city center and a touch of history, you’ll find yourself gliding along mostly paved paths and quiet roads—so it's a comfortable ride almost the entire way.

The path is super cyclist-friendly, with 93% paved surfaces, and most of it dedicated to bike paths or peaceful roads. Rolling through the gentle landscapes of North Rhine-Westphalia into Lower Saxony, you’ll get mild elevation changes (just over 50 meters of ascent—nothing too steep).

You’ll end your ride in Lingen, a charming town known for its old market square and beautiful churches. It’s a great spot to reward your ride with a coffee or some local treats. All in all, it’s a smooth route, perfect for a leisurely ride with gorgeous scenery. Don’t forget your camera!
