By bicycle from Prenzlauer Berg to Treptow

This ride takes you from the lively streets of Prenzlauer Berg down to the relaxed vibes of Treptow—two Berlin neighborhoods, each with its own unique charm. Starting in Prenzlauer Berg, you’ll pedal past stylish cafes and beautifully restored 19th-century apartments, soaking up some of Berlin’s cool, bohemian energy. As you make your way south, the route is mostly on peaceful roads and well-kept cycleways, so it’s a smooth ride.

You hardly need to worry about hills, since there’s barely 40 meters of climbing—easy on the legs! The surfaces are almost entirely paved, with a little mix of asphalt and classic Berlin paving stones here and there. Approaching Treptow, you’ll notice things mellow out, and you’ll soon find yourself near the sprawling Treptower Park and the Spree River, a great spot for a break or a picnic. In total, it’s just under 14 km—long enough for a good ride, short enough to squeeze into a morning or afternoon. Definitely one of those trips that reminds you why Berlin is such a bike-friendly city!
