Cycling day trip from Oldenburg to Varel

Starting in Oldenburg, you can soak up some of the city’s classic atmosphere—think cozy cafés, peaceful canals, and vibrant energy, thanks to its big student population. Once you set off, you’ll find the paths mostly smooth and paved (around 89%), with long stretches of quiet roads and scenic paths perfect for a relaxing trip.

The route is almost entirely flat, so don’t worry about climbing any serious hills (highest point is just 23 meters!). Along the way, you’ll glide through the peaceful Lower Saxon countryside, with plenty of fresh air and fields for company.
