Cycling day trip from Nuremberg to Bamberg

This ride takes you from the vibrant city of Nuremberg straight to the charming UNESCO-listed old town of Bamberg—a fantastic day trip for anyone who loves a bit of history with their cycling. The route is about 66 km, mostly on paved surfaces (so no need for a mountain bike) and a mix of peaceful paths, quiet roads, and a touch of scenic gravel—perfect for just cruising along without too much traffic.

You start out in Nuremberg, a city known for its medieval architecture and lively culture. As you head north, the countryside gradually opens up and you’ll enjoy gentle rolling hills with only a few modest climbs (just over 220 meters in ascent).
