Cycling day trip from Meppen to Papenburg

This ride takes you from the charming town of Meppen up to Papenburg, covering just over 52 km through Lower Saxony’s tranquil landscapes. Start your journey in Meppen, a historic spot at the confluence of the Ems and Hase rivers—great for a quick riverside photo before setting off!

You’ll spend much of the route cruising on paved and asphalt surfaces, with gentle hills (nothing higher than 35 meters!) and plenty of designated cycleways, making for an easygoing ride that’s as relaxing as it is scenic. You’ll weave through peaceful countryside, pass by sleepy villages, and maybe spot a few cows along wide, open fields.
