Cycling day trip from Meersburg to Bregenz

Set off from the charming town of Meersburg, known for its lovely old castle and vineyards sloping down to Lake Constance. Your ride hugs the northern shore of the lake, taking you past orchards, lakeside villages, and maybe even a ferry or two in the distance. Most of the ride uses quiet roads and dedicated cycleways, so you won’t have to worry much about cars—perfect for soaking in the views!

The route is super scenic and mostly flat, with just a couple of gentle climbs (around 270 meters ascent total). You’ll find yourself cruising through spots like Friedrichshafen (home of the Zeppelin!) and the peaceful lakeside countryside before gliding into Austria. Your destination, Bregenz, is famous for its impressive floating stage on the lake and the modern art galleries downtown.

All in all, it’s about 55 km of smooth, paved riding with almost no gravel or bumps, so road bikes are totally fine. Don’t forget your swimming gear—there are plenty of spots along the way where you can dip your toes in the water!
