Quick ride by bicycle from Leichlingen to Langenfeld

Spin out from Leichlingen, the “Blütenstadt” on the Wupper, and roll west toward Langenfeld on an easy, almost-flat ride. It’s about 8.5 km with gentle ups and downs (roughly 30 m ascent, 40 m descent). The route strings together cycleways and quiet roads with a few path sections, and is mostly paved/asphalt—great for any city or trekking bike.

You’ll pass orchards and open fields typical of the Wupper lowlands before easing into Langenfeld’s outskirts and on toward the center. Leichlingen is known for its blossom festivals and riverside charm; Langenfeld sits neatly between Cologne and Düsseldorf and is famous for Wasserski Langenfeld, one of Europe’s largest cable wake parks.

Heads-up: expect the occasional change in surface (a bit of paving stone here and there), but nothing technical. A relaxed, scenic connector that’s as practical as it is pleasant.
