Quick ride by bicycle from Großbarkau to Kiel

This pleasant ride takes you from the quiet village of Großbarkau to the bustling city of Kiel. Starting in Großbarkau, a small rural spot surrounded by fields and gentle hills, you’ll enjoy some lovely countryside scenery. The route is about 14 km long—perfect for a leisurely ride—and has a nice mix of quiet roads and scenic paths, mostly paved with a couple of short ventures onto paving stones and tracks.

You'll climb a bit in the first half (the area tops out around 65 meters in elevation), but there’s more descent than ascent overall, making the last stretch toward Kiel a breeze. Once you reach Kiel, you'll find yourself at the edge of the Baltic Sea, in Schleswig-Holstein’s lively capital with its famous port, maritime museums, and waterfront cafés.
