By bicycle from Görlitz to Zgorzelec

This short ride takes you from the enchanting old town of Görlitz in Germany across the Neisse River to Zgorzelec, its Polish twin city. The route mostly sticks to quiet roads and is almost entirely paved, with a charming mix of asphalt and some cobblestone to keep things interesting.

Görlitz is famous for its exceptionally well-preserved architecture and has starred in movies like “Grand Budapest Hotel.” As you ride east, you’ll cross a scenic bridge into Zgorzelec, seamlessly transitioning from Germany to Poland. Zgorzelec shares much of its history and ambiance with Görlitz, but with its own Polish flavor—great for a quick coffee or pastry before heading back.
