By bicycle from Dresden to Radebeul

This relaxed 14 km ride takes you from the heart of Dresden—a city famed for its stunning Baroque architecture and riverside charm—northwest to Radebeul, the gateway to Saxony’s wine region. You’ll mostly cruise along quiet roads, with the Elbe River often nearby, and only gentle undulations (about 60m ascent/descent), so it’s beginner-friendly.

Most of the way is smooth and paved; keep an eye out for occasional stretches of paving stones and cobbles, especially near older town centers. As you roll into Radebeul, you’ll notice a shift: from urban Dresden’s bustle to leafy lanes lined with vineyards and traditional villas. Radebeul itself is famous for its wine culture and as the former home of adventure novelist Karl May.
