Cycling day trip from Verőce to Szob

Ready for a scenic riverside ride? Set off from Verőce, a charming village on the Danube’s bend just north of Budapest, known for its peaceful vibes and lovely waterfront promenade. Your journey to Szob takes you about 21.5 km mostly on smooth, dedicated cycleways (no battling traffic!).

The route keeps things friendly for all levels – just a gentle 48-meter climb and not much descent, winding through classic riverbank scenery with rolling hills in the distance. The surface is mostly paved or asphalt (so your tires will thank you), with just a whisper of missing bits here and there.

Coast into Szob at the end, a small town right by the Slovakian border and an old railway hub. If you have time, check out the local train museum or enjoy a cold drink by the riverside. All in all, it’s a relaxed, pretty ride perfect for a half-day adventure along some of Hungary’s nicest bike paths!
