By bicycle from Vác to Dunakeszi

This scenic ride takes you from Vác, a charming town on the Danube known for its Baroque architecture and lively squares, all the way down to Dunakeszi, just on the outskirts of Budapest. It's an easygoing route that's about 19.5 km long and sticks mostly to smooth, paved surfaces—so you can count on a comfortable spin.

You’ll roll along the Danube for a good stretch, catching river views and maybe spotting some local fishermen or boats passing by. With half the journey on dedicated cycleways and much of the rest on quieter roads, it's great for both seasoned riders and casual cyclists. There’s just enough ascent—about 100 meters overall—to keep things interesting without feeling like a slog.

Once you reach Dunakeszi, you’ll find plenty of spots to grab a drink or a bite, and you’re just a stone’s throw from Budapest’s northern borders. All in all, it’s a relaxed riverside adventure perfect for a half-day escape!
