Quick ride by bicycle from Törökbálint to Újbuda

Cruise from leafy Törökbálint into lively Újbuda on a comfortable, mostly urban ride. It’s about 18 km, with a gentle net descent into the city (more downhill than up), and only modest climbs along the way. Expect mainly smooth asphalt and a mix of quiet residential streets and dedicated cycleways, especially as you roll through Budaörs toward Kelenföld.

Törökbálint sits by the M1/M7 junction and has a small-town vibe with easy access to Budapest. As you approach Újbuda (Budapest’s District XI), traffic picks up—watch for tram tracks and busier junctions near Kelenföld and Etele tér—but cycling infrastructure improves, guiding you toward parks and the Danube side. If you have time, detour to Kopaszi-gát for waterfront views, or finish near Bartók Béla Boulevard’s café strip. Újbuda is also home to the Budapest University of Technology and Economics and the foot of Gellért Hill.
