By bicycle from Tapolca to Badacsonytomaj

This scenic ride starts in the charming town of Tapolca, known for its unique underground lake and historic mills. You’ll head south out of town, rolling mostly along quiet roads and some dedicated cycleways—a real treat for a stress-free spin.

The route covers just over 18 km with gentle ups and downs, so it’s manageable but keeps things interesting. You’ll cruise past lush vineyards and fields, especially as you approach Badacsony, one of Hungary's famed wine regions. The last kilometers offer beautiful views of the volcanic Badacsony hill and glimpses of Lake Balaton.

Though most of the way is smooth asphalt, a tiny bit of gravel and unpaved track adds a hint of adventure. You'll end in Badacsonytomaj, a lakeside village perfect for unwinding with some local wine or a lakeside stroll.
