Quick ride by bicycle from Keszthely to Vonyarcvashegy

Roll out from Keszthely and cruise the north shore of Lake Balaton toward Vonyarcvashegy on an easy, lakeside spin. It’s about 6.5 km, mostly flat with a gentle net descent, and you’ll spend much of it on smooth asphalt cycleways with a few quiet-road stretches.

Leaving Keszthely—home to the elegant Baroque Festetics Palace and the Balaton Museum—follow the Balaton Bike Ring east along the waterfront and marinas. Expect reed-lined views, sailboats, and, on clear days, a backdrop of the Badacsony hills across the lake. You’ll pass through Gyenesdiás before rolling into Vonyarcvashegy.

Finish at Vonyarcvashegy’s family-friendly Lido Beach, or lock the bike and walk up to the small Szent Mihály Chapel on the hill for a stellar panorama over the bay. Surfaces are mostly asphalt and bike-path friendly, so this one’s great for all riders. Pro tip: pack a swimsuit and plan an ice-cream stop en route.
