Quick ride by bicycle from Csopak to Tihany

This scenic bike ride starts in the charming village of Csopak, famous for its crisp white wines and lovely lakeside beaches on the northern shore of Lake Balaton. You’ll head out on mostly quiet roads and some dedicated cycle paths—so it’s a peaceful cruise, perfect for soaking up the relaxed Balaton vibe.

The 15 km route has a couple of gentle climbs (about 146 meters of ascent), giving you some great views over the lake and vineyards. Most of the surface is paved or asphalt, but watch out for a few small gravel patches.

After winding through sleepy villages and rolling vineyards, you’ll arrive in Tihany—a fairytale peninsula crowned by its 11th-century Benedictine Abbey and fragrant lavender fields. Don’t miss the panoramic lake view from the abbey, and maybe reward yourself with a coffee and a slice of Tihany’s famous lavender cake before heading back. It’s a classic Balaton ride, perfect for anyone who loves a mix of nature, history, and good food.
