Cycling day trip from Badacsonytomaj to Vonyarcvashegy

Set off from Badacsonytomaj, a charming village nestled below the iconic Badacsony Hill, famous for its volcanic basalt slopes and excellent wines. From here, you’ll pedal westward along mostly smooth asphalt cycleways and quiet roads, with only a hint of gravel and unpaved stretches—a solid route for nearly any bike.

The journey is about 22 kilometers, rolling gently with around 150 meters of total ascent. You’ll pass vineyards, lakeside vistas, and possibly even the scent of lavender fields depending on the season. There’s plenty of scenery to soak up, and with most of the path being on dedicated cycleways, it’s a relaxed and safe ride.

You’ll end in Vonyarcvashegy, a lively resort town on Lake Balaton’s shore, known for its sandy beach and friendly summer buzz. Take a break by the water, maybe grab an ice cream—or just dip your feet in after the ride!
