By bicycle from Dřiteň to Vodňany

This scenic ride starts in the quiet village of Dřiteň, nestled just beyond the rolling hills of southern Bohemia. Known for its local chateau and historic quarry, Dřiteň is a peaceful place to begin your journey. The 18 km route to Vodňany winds mostly along paved, quiet country roads, so you can really soak in the calm of the rural landscape. Expect some gentle climbs (about 138 meters total), but nothing too challenging.

Along the way, you’ll pass through farmlands and little villages—classic South Bohemia vibes. There's a stretch or two where the surface may be less than perfect, but most of the ride is smooth sailing on asphalt. Finishing in Vodňany, a lovely town famed for its freshwater fish ponds and medieval roots, you can treat yourself to a coffee in the picturesque square or maybe even a taste of the local carp, the town's pride.
