Cycling day trip from Zakopane to Liptovský Mikuláš

Ready for an epic ride? This cycling route starts in Zakopane, Poland—nicknamed the “winter capital” of the country at the foot of the Tatras—and rolls all the way to Liptovský Mikuláš in Slovakia. You’ll cross borders (don’t forget your ID!) and two national park regions, so expect those mountain views to be next-level.

The route covers around 100 km and has some serious ups and downs, with over 2,100 meters of climbing and even more elevation dropping—perfect if you’re after a real leg workout. Most of the journey is on paved surfaces, but make sure you’re prepped for some stretches on gravel and tracks. Luckily, much of the ride steers clear of heavy traffic, winding you along quiet roads and scenic bike ways.
