Quick ride by bicycle from Tychy to Murcki

Roll out from Tychy, a Silesian city best known for the Tyskie brewery and plenty of green spaces, and point your bars north toward Murcki. The route is about 17.7 km with a gentle net climb (roughly +120 m up, -60 m down), so it’s friendly but not boring.

Expect a mix of surfaces: mostly quiet roads and cycleways broken up by forest tracks and paths. About half is paved, with stretches of gravel, ground and some paving stones—comfortable on trekking or gravel tires. After rain, watch for puddles and roots in the woods.

You’ll ride through broad forest belts that separate Tychy from Katowice, offering shade and birdsong most of the way. Murcki greets you at the finish—Katowice’s southern, green district, bordering the Las Murckowski nature reserve and known for its mining heritage (the former Murcki mine). Perfect spot to cool down, grab a snack, or wander a bit more under the trees.
