Bikepacking from Krakow to Częstochowa

This ride takes you from the historic heart of Krakow, famous for its UNESCO-listed old town and vibrant café culture, straight up to Częstochowa — a major pilgrimage site and home to the revered Black Madonna icon at Jasna Góra Monastery.

You’ll cover about 152 km, cruising through a mostly paved mix of quiet country roads and occasional tracks. Expect a little over 1,500 meters of climbing, so prepare for some hills, but nothing too extreme — just enough to keep things interesting and to give you some fantastic views of the Polish countryside.

The route is mostly peaceful, keeping you away from busy streets and letting you really soak in rural landscapes. You’ll pass through fields, small villages, and patches of forest — ideal for a long day out in the saddle.

When you reach Częstochowa, it’s well worth stopping at Jasna Góra to see its stunning monastery complex, which draws visitors from around the world. In short: it’s a classic Polish ride, perfect for history buffs and those who love a bit of adventure.
