Quick ride by bicycle from Gijón to Natahoyo

A quick coastal spin from central Gijón to Natahoyo. Roll out by the Bay of Biscay and hook onto the waterfront cycleway toward Playa de Poniente. You’ll skirt the marina and Cimavilla’s old fishermen’s quarter before cruising west on mostly smooth asphalt. The route mixes dedicated cycleway with quiet streets and a few promenade-style path sections—almost entirely paved—so it’s easy on any bike. Gentle ups and downs, nothing steep, with low max elevation.

Keep an eye out for sea views and port cranes in the distance. Watch for pedestrians around the beach fronts.

Finish in Natahoyo, a laid‑back neighborhood on Gijón’s west side. You’re close to Poniente and, a little farther, El Arbeyal beach—great for a dip. The Asturias Railway Museum sits nearby, and there are plenty of sidrerías for a post-ride cider. Short, scenic, and city-friendly—perfect as a commute or an easy warm-up ride.
