Cycling day trip from Oslo to Kjenn

Ready for a scenic ride out of the city? This route starts right in the heart of Oslo, Norway’s lively capital—famous for its waterfront and green spaces—before winding east towards Kjenn, a smaller borough in Lørenskog known for its peaceful suburban vibe and proximity to lovely forest trails.

You’ll cover just under 22 km, mostly on smooth asphalt and dedicated cycleways, making for a stress-free spin away from busy roads. The ride is mostly paved, and just about all of it keeps you away from heavy traffic. Expect some uphill stretches as you climb out of Oslo, but you’ll be rewarded with great views and a solid descent towards Kjenn.
