Cycling day trip from Verona to Trento

This ride takes you from the romantic city of Verona, known for its stunning Roman arena and Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, up to Trento, a charming city nestled in the Trentino mountains and famous for its Renaissance architecture and Alpine atmosphere.

The route covers about 104 km of gorgeous Northern Italian scenery, with most of it cruising along smooth cycleways—perfect for a long, comfortable day in the saddle. There’s a steady but moderate climb (just over 750 meters of ascent), so you’ll get your legs working as you roll north, but nothing too intense. Expect the Adige River to be your companion much of the way, with vineyards and mountain views popping up as you go.

Both Verona and Trento make great start or finish points for exploring Italian history and culture, and with almost all of the route on well-maintained, paved surfaces, it’s a stress-free ride suitable for most cyclists. Treat yourself to a gelato when you arrive in Trento—you’ll have earned it!
