Cycling day trip from Modena to Bologna

Here’s a wonderful ride from Modena to Bologna, perfect for any cyclist who wants to soak in the heart of Emilia-Romagna. You’ll roll out from Modena—a city famous for its balsamic vinegar and home to Ferrari—heading east across about 61 km of mostly flat, gently rolling terrain. The elevation gain is minimal, keeping things relaxed all the way.

Most of your journey winds along paved and asphalt cycleways and quiet roads (so you can just enjoy the countryside without worrying about traffic). About half of your ride is on proper cycle paths, and the rest on peaceful side roads through fields, fruit orchards, and little villages.

The closer you get to Bologna, the more lively things become.
