Cycling day trip from Arezzo to Florence

A classic Tuscan point-to-point: from Arezzo’s medieval heart to Florence, cradle of the Renaissance. Expect about 106 km with plenty of rolling hills (≈1,800 m of climbing) and an overall net descent into Florence.

You’ll roll out of Arezzo toward the Arno and the Valdarno, stitching together quiet backroads and cycleways with a good dose of farm tracks. Surfaces are mixed: mostly paved, but around 15% unpaved with some gravel—great for 32–40 mm tires. The riding is a gentle rollercoaster, topping out under 500 m, with vineyard and olive-grove views before a longer glide toward the city.
