Cycling day trip from Alghero to Bosa

This ride takes you from the charming old town of Alghero, known for its Catalan heritage and beautiful seafront, south along one of Sardinia’s most scenic coastal roads to the colourful town of Bosa. It’s about 68 km with just under 1,400 meters of climbing, so expect a good workout and plenty of rolling hills.

The route mostly hugs quiet, winding roads with jaw-dropping Mediterranean views—especially on the coastal stretch, where dramatic cliffs and turquoise coves keep you company. With nearly two-thirds of the route missing surface info but most of what’s mapped being paved or asphalt, bring a bike that can handle the odd rough patch. Expect some steep ramps as you snake past beaches and through fragrant maquis shrubland, eventually reaching Bosa’s patchwork of pastel houses along the Temo River.
