By bicycle from Portorož to Izola

This lovely ride takes you along the sun-drenched Slovenian coast, starting in Portorož—the country’s iconic seaside resort known for its lively promenade and salt pans. From here, you'll pedal northeast towards Izola, covering just over 9 km on mostly smooth, paved surfaces. The route is mostly made up of dedicated cycleways and quiet roads, winding gently between coastal landscapes with a couple of easy climbs (total ascent of about 146 meters, nothing too daunting).

You’ll enjoy great sea views along the way, and maybe spot a vineyard or two. After a leisurely hour in the saddle, you’ll roll into Izola, a charming old fishing town famous for its Venetian history and colorful waterfront.
