Quick ride by bicycle from Nova Gorica to Solkan

This short and easy ride takes you from the lively town of Nova Gorica to the charming village of Solkan—a perfect warm-up or a beginner-friendly spin! Starting in Nova Gorica, which sits right on Slovenia’s western border and is known for its parks and lively squares, you’ll roll mostly on gentle, quiet roads and dedicated cycleways. The ride is pretty flat, with just a touch of up and down, and the smooth asphalt makes it comfortable.

As you head north, you’ll pass into Solkan, famous for its remarkable Solkan Bridge—the world’s longest stone railway arch! Be sure to check out the emerald-green Soča River while you’re there; it’s a popular spot for kayaking and outdoor adventures.
