Get ready for a scenic and somewhat adventurous ride across the heart of Hvar island! Starting out from the charming town of Hvar, famous for its medieval architecture and bustling harbor, you’ll head inland on a mixed-surface journey that combines both paved and unpaved segments—so a gravel or mountain bike is a good idea here.

The route climbs steadily, with over 950 meters of ascent and a max elevation just above 500 meters, promising some real leg-burners (and knockout views of the Adriatic and vineyard-draped hills). You’ll mostly be on quiet roads and wide tracks, though don’t be surprised by stretches of loose gravel and some “missing” surface, adding a dash of adventure.

After about 25 kilometers, you’ll roll into Stari Grad, one of Europe’s oldest towns, where cobbled streets and waterfront cafés await. Treat yourself: you’ve just crossed from one historic harbor to another, with a hearty dose of nature and island charm along the way!
