Cycling day trip from Krimml to Kaprun

This ride takes you from the charming alpine village of Krimml to the popular resort town of Kaprun, covering just under 60 km of mostly paved surfaces—perfect for road bikes, but with enough gravel stretches to keep things interesting! Starting in Krimml, be sure to check out its world-famous waterfalls (the highest in Austria), then hop on quiet roads and tracks winding through the lush Salzach Valley.

The route involves a good mix of climbs (expect around 740 meters of ascent) and some exhilarating descents, peaking at about 1,425 meters. You’ll cruise through classic Tyrolean villages and alongside the river, soaking in spectacular views of the Hohe Tauern mountains.
