By bicycle from San Bernardo to Puente Alto

This ride takes you from San Bernardo to Puente Alto—two lively communes south of central Santiago. Starting in San Bernardo, you’ll kick off in an area known for its traditional markets and vibrant local culture. The route spans nearly 20 km, mostly along smooth, paved surfaces, so you won’t have to worry too much about rough patches.

You’ll find yourself gliding along well-marked cycleways most of the journey, with the occasional detour onto quieter roads, so it’s pretty relaxing and beginner-friendly. There’s a gentle ascent (around 140 meters in total), making it lightly challenging but definitely manageable.

As you approach Puente Alto—one of Santiago’s largest districts—you’ll notice the city’s energy picking up, with more parks, shops, and sights along the way.
