Cycling day trip from Independencia to San Isidro

This cycling route takes you from Independencia, a vibrant Lima district known for its bustling shopping centers and residential neighborhoods, all the way to the stylish heart of San Isidro. Covering just over 29 km, you’ll mostly roll along smooth pavement and dedicated cycleways—so it’s a pretty comfortable ride for most of the journey.

You’ll notice a gentle ascent at first, but it’s mostly downhill as you approach San Isidro, where upscale boutiques and leafy parks await. The route links quieter roads with well-developed bike lanes, so you can really take in Lima’s urban landscape (and maybe stop for a classic Peruvian coffee along the way). With about 143 meters of climbing and nearly 300 meters of descent, you’ll finish feeling refreshed, not wiped out.

San Isidro is a fantastic destination, home to the famous El Olivar Park and lots of local cafés—perfect for a post-ride chill. Whether you’re out for fitness or just exploring, this ride gives you a nice slice of city life from north to south.
