Cycling day trip from Jaunciems to Riga

This leisurely cycling route takes you from the peaceful outskirts of Jaunciems into the vibrant heart of Riga. Starting in Jaunciems—a green and quiet neighborhood by Ķīšezers Lake, known for its relaxed vibe and waterside charm—you’ll mostly ride on asphalt and paved cycleways, so it's smooth going for most of the journey!

The route covers about 30 kilometers and gently undulates, with just under 100 meters of ascent—nothing too tough, even if you’re not chasing Strava KOMs. About two-thirds of the ride is on paved surfaces, but you’ll also roll over some gravel and tracks, adding a bit of adventure.

As you get closer to Riga, you’ll notice more city energy and landmarks popping up. Riga’s Old Town, with its stunning Art Nouveau buildings and lively cafés, is a cyclist’s treat at the finish line.
