Quick ride by bicycle from Sokol’niki to Lefortovo

This ride takes you from the leafy avenues of Sokol’niki—famous for its sprawling park and historical ties to Russian nobility—straight down to the fascinating district of Lefortovo, known for its old factories, classic courtyards, and the iconic Lefortovo Prison.

Covering about 11.4 km, the route is mostly on paved roads, with a friendly mix of quiet side streets and a few well-trafficked sections (perfect for a bit of city buzz). There’s just enough up and downhill to give your legs some action, but nothing too steep—about 43 meters up and 61 down.

Expect cool views: you’ll skirt the edges of Sokol’niki Park at the start, roll through some typical Moscow neighborhoods, and finish near Lefortovo’s riverside. Surfaces are mostly asphalt, but you’ll touch a bit of gravel and cobbles, so wider tires are nice but not a must.
