Quick ride by bicycle from Luzhniki to Dorogomilovo

Spin out from Luzhniki, Moscow’s mega sports complex (think 1980 Olympics and the 2018 World Cup Final), and hug the Moskva River along the Luzhnetskaya embankment. It’s a scenic, mostly flat 7.5 km roll with gentle ups and downs. You’ll pass near Novodevichy’s ponds and, if you like skyline views, the river gives you great angles on the city.

Cross to the north bank near Kievsky Station via the glass Bogdan Khmelnitsky (Kievsky) bridge; you may need to dismount briefly if it’s busy. Then cruise Berezhkovskaya Embankment into Dorogomilovo, a district known for grand Soviet-era avenues like Kutuzovsky Prospekt and easy access to Europe Square and the station.

• Surfaces are mostly smooth asphalt; expect a short mixed/unknown patch and the odd paving-stone section.
• The route blends quiet streets with a few busier stretches—stick to embankment paths where possible and watch traffic near major junctions.
