Set off from Gol’yanovo, a green and relaxed district on Moscow’s northeast edge, and head straight towards the heart of Russia’s bustling capital. This roughly 36-km ride is the perfect urban adventure: mostly flat, with just enough rolling hills (about 220m up, 230m down) to keep things interesting—but nothing too challenging.

The way is friendly for most tires: over 90% of the route is paved, mostly smooth asphalt, although you’ll want to look out for a few bits with paving stones and a couple of spots where the path isn’t marked. About a quarter of your journey will be along cycleways and quiet side streets, with brief stretches on busier roads closer to the city center.
