By bicycle from Helsinki to Koukkuniemi

This scenic bike ride takes you from the lively heart of Helsinki to the peaceful neighborhood of Koukkuniemi, covering just over 14 km of mostly smooth, paved surfaces. You'll hop on dedicated cycleways for most of the route, which makes for a safe and relaxed journey whether you’re commuting or just out to enjoy the sights.

Starting in Helsinki, Finland’s vibrant capital, you’ll weave through its urban pulse—think waterside parks, quirky cafés, and some impressive architecture. The route trends southwest, gradually leaving the busy city behind as you pedal through quiet residential areas, finally arriving in leafy Koukkuniemi, a laid-back corner near the coastline of Espoo. Expect mild hills, some gentle climbs with a total ascent of around 84 meters, and even more descent on the way.
