By bicycle from Săcele to Brasov

Ready for a scenic ride? This route takes you from the town of Săcele, nestled just southeast of Brașov, straight into the heart of the Transylvanian gem itself! Covering a manageable 16.5 km, it’s a relatively gentle trip, with about 120 meters of climbing and nearly 200 meters of descent, making it approachable for most riders.

You’ll roll out mainly on quiet, paved country roads skirting the foothills of the Carpathians. The area around Săcele is known for its multicultural heritage, and you may spot a few brightly painted Saxon houses as you pedal through. Once on the outskirts of Brașov, the views open up—look out for the city’s medieval walls and the famous "Brașov" sign on Tampa Mountain as you approach.

The route is mostly smooth asphalt, with only a few missing or rough sections, so a road bike is perfect. Be mindful of a couple of busier stretches as you near the city, but most of the road is pleasantly quiet.
