Quick ride by bicycle from Bethnal Green to Canary Wharf

This route takes you from the vibrant streets of Bethnal Green in East London all the way down to the modern skyline of Canary Wharf. It's a pretty relaxed 6.9 km ride—perfect if you want to cruise past canal paths, converted warehouses, and a mix of old-school London and shining new developments.

You’ll start in Bethnal Green, a neighborhood known for its creative energy, markets, and street art. Most of the way, you’ll be on quiet roads (making it beginner-friendly), with occasional stretches on dedicated cycleways and only a few meters on busy roads. The scenery changes as you get closer to Limehouse Basin—look out for scenic spots along Regent’s Canal before you ride under the DLR tracks and pop out in Canary Wharf.

Roll into Canary Wharf, London's second major financial district, surrounded by glassy skyscrapers, riverside promenades, and plenty of cafes for that post-ride coffee. Expect some gentle rolling hills, but nothing too dramatic. All in all, it’s a great way to see two very different sides of East London on two wheels!
