Quick ride by bicycle from Canary Wharf to City of Westminster

Set off from the impressive glass towers of Canary Wharf and pedal your way toward the heart of London in the City of Westminster. This mostly paved, cycleway-heavy route (over two-thirds on dedicated bike paths!) is a pleasure for city cyclists looking for a scenic and relatively stress-free ride.

You’ll glide west along the Thames, passing a mix of slick modern developments and charming old neighborhoods. Look out for great river views, and maybe even a quick photo stop at Tower Bridge if you’re feeling touristy. The route avoids busy roads almost entirely, with most of your ride on peaceful cycleways and quiet backstreets.

Arriving in Westminster, you’ll be welcomed by iconic landmarks—think Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, and the Houses of Parliament—a fittingly grand finish. With a gentle 80m or so of ascent and a little more descent, it’s an easy ride suitable for almost anyone with basic bike experience.
