By bicycle from Cățelu to Sector 3

An easy, almost-flat spin of about 7 km from Cățelu into Bucharest’s Sector 3. You’ll start on quiet side streets and access roads skirting the industrial edge; the surface is fully paved—mostly smooth asphalt with a few concrete stretches—so any city/trekking bike will do. There’s only around 20 m of gentle climbing, then a slight roll down as you near the city.

Most of the way is low-traffic, with a short busier bit as you link up with the main approach into Sector 3 (think the big boulevards heading in from the A2). When in doubt, use the parallel service lanes and take care at larger junctions.

Cățelu sits just outside Bucharest in Glina commune, making this a handy gateway ride into town. At the finish, Sector 3 is one of the city’s greener districts—Titan (Alexandru Ioan Cuza) Park is a great detour for lakeside paths, shade, and a post-ride snack.
